Objectives

We live in an era where social and cultural barriers are becoming increasingly evident. Access to educational and cultural opportunities is often limited for those from disadvantaged backgrounds, and many young people grow up without adequate spaces to express themselves and develop their creative potential. Specifically, our project addresses the need for more inclusive and participatory education as we experience culture only as passive spectators. We want to have the opportunity to be active participants and creators of non-formal methodology workshops which are a milestone in modern education, far ahead of the formal one. We also feel the urge and need to develop transversal skills: today more than ever, young people must learn to communicate, collaborate, manage emotions, and work in a team. These soft skills are essential in the world of work and in everyday life, but are often lacking in traditional education. This is why 5 realities from Italy, Slovakia, France, the Netherlands and Lithuania have joined to compose the international partnership of the youth exchange :"Music & Nature for Youth". We are young and passionate about what we do in our countries and would like to grow bigger, overcome the aforementioned issues and partner up with complementary realities in the fields of what corresponds to the topics chosen in this project application: 1) Creativity, Art & Culture ( especially referred to music); 2) Green skills 3) Digital Content and Pedagogical practises. We, the musicians of the Orchestra Improvvisata in Rome, made a call on the Salto webpage https://www.saltoyouth.net/tools/otlas-partner-finding/ and chose 2 of our project partners from Slovakia and France whereas we knew the other 2 partners from the Netherlands and Lithuania from previous cooperations. We do have different backgrounds and expertise but at the same time many things in common, so some of us is more proficient in music for example, some, others in environmental initiatives and some others in the digital field. We know we can rely on previous cooperation with 2 of the partners which can guarantee good and consolidated cooperation whereas we were looking for new energies, ideas and cultural background which also the other 2 partners can guarantee and, in fact, have showed together with great enthusiasm and reliability. We believe in the power of music, beauty of nature, clarity of audiovisuals, but but the same time we realise that if each of our groups composing the partnership is taken individually we lack the knowledge and experience in one or two areas of the three. This is why we would like to learn from each other, to be more complete with a thorough knowledge where we can make and create more music, promote and safeguard the environment and mother-Nature, relate to the digital world responsably and as a key to share to the others the world where we would like to live in. Also, we would like to gain more experience with the Erasmus+ programme as it offers a full range of opportunities to keep on learning what we love in a stimulating international dimension by giving priority to those who do not have many opportunities and we all come, in this partnership, from situations where, due to financial, geographical or cultural background, we wouldn't have such opportunities. So, we can say that our goals are: 1. To deepen the knowledge of the realities of the 5 participating countries by going beyond and breaking the common stereotypes.. 2. To have the opportunity to design, prepare, manage and evaluate the exchange activities, with the support of their groupleaders. 3. To share and learn about music, environment and audiovisual workshops, which each partner will share as their best practices, so to reinforce and develop helpful attitudes, competences, habits and behaviours. 4. To contribute to the diffusion of healthy values such as respect for diversity, inclusion, tolerance and the common good. 5. To promote non-formal learning, particularly suitable for young people with fewer opportunities who often find themselves at risk of exclusion in formal learning settings. 6. To inform participants and the community about the opportunities of the Erasmus+ programme, especially those related to the Youth sector. 7. To make of the follow-up a starting point for further interventions, both in local communities and internationally.
