Objectives

The main objective of the project "NextGen Ruralpreneurs: Community-First Tourism" is to promote youth empowerment in rural areas through community-based tourism (CBT) as a driver for local sustainable development. The project addresses key challenges such as youth unemployment, depopulation, and lack of local opportunities by equipping participants with entrepreneurial skills, environmental awareness, and a strong sense of community identity. From the perspective of youth work, the project aims to: - Foster active participation of young people in shaping local solutions; - Use non-formal education to build key competencies such as creativity, leadership, teamwork, and digital literacy; - Promote intercultural dialogue and cooperation through an inclusive and participatory process; - Strengthen the capacity of youth to co-create sustainable tourism models based on their communities' real needs and potential. By the end of the project, we aim to empower a new generation of "ruralpreneurs" who view their territories not as places to leave, but as spaces of innovation, opportunity, and sustainable growth.
