Objectives

MELODY is an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange coordinated by WeSound (Italy) with partners from France, Greece, and Poland. The project aims to use music as a universal tool to foster emotional intelligence, self-expression, and intercultural dialogue, with a focus on young people facing cultural, social, and economic barriers. The project will involve 28 participants (7 per country, aged 18-25), supported by 4 group leaders and 1 facilitator. Each group will include 3 young people with fewer opportunities, ensuring strong attention to inclusion and diversity. Through a 7-day mobility in Italy, participants will explore emotions and relationships using non-formal learning methods (storytelling, outdoor activities, peer-led workshops) combined with the CASEL framework for Social and Emotional Learning. They will co-create three main outputs: a podcast sharing reflections and intercultural experiences, a 10-15 minute documentary capturing their journey, a soundtrack list of songs designed to support emotional literacy and wellbeing. After the exchange, the impact will be extended through: local workshops in all four countries, reaching at least 48 additional young people, a dissemination event in Italy presenting the outputs to the wider community, meetings with stakeholders (schools, municipalities, cultural associations) to promote long-term youth-led initiatives. In this way, MELODY will empower participants with competences in emotional intelligence, intercultural communication, and active citizenship, while ensuring the results remain accessible and beneficial for wider communities across Europe.
