The Nature of Power was born from the awareness that youth workers in Europe increasingly operate in complex contexts, marked by interpersonal conflicts, phenomena of exclusion, mental health fragility and growing social challenges. These scenarios make it clear that there is a need to strengthen youth workers’ competences, providing them with concrete tools and innovative approaches to support young people in pathways of growth, resilience and inclusion. The project aims to explore the dimension of power – understood not only as a hierarchical dynamic, but also as vital energy, capacity for expression and collective responsibility – in order to provide youth workers with a new framework to interpret and transform relationships within youth groups. The pedagogical approach combines embodiment and somatic practices, nature-based activities, and cognitive reflection, creating a holistic and transformative learning experience. From the perspective of youth work practice, the objectives are: • to strengthen youth workers’ ability to prevent and transform conflicts, reducing the risk of violence and exclusion; • to promote mental health and well-being as central dimensions of youth work; • to develop transversal competences such as active listening, empathy, resilience, and inclusive leadership; • to build a European network of youth workers sharing innovative practices and collaborating beyond the project’s lifetime. In this way, The Nature of Power aims to be not only a training course, but also a catalyst for the renewal of European youth work, capable of leaving lasting traces in the participants, their organisations, and the youth communities they work with on a daily basis.
