Objectives

GUIDE was born from a co-creation process among the 7 partners and the youth workers involved, developed already in the preliminary phase through meetings, consultations, and moments of dialogue. This process, facilitated by KLAP (Italian coordinator), allowed the collection of the real needs emerging in the different territories, with a horizontal approach that put at the center the experiences of youth workers and the needs of the local communities they work with. The needs analysis highlighted some common priorities: Lack of structured guidance methodologies to accompany isolated and disadvantaged young people in personalized pathways of engagement and empowerment. Need for youth workers to access innovative tools to better involve the vulnerable young people they work with. Necessity for youth workers to strengthen their competences in support, coaching, and mentoring in order to sustain young people with continuity, motivation, and orientation. Difficulties for youth workers in creating inclusive participatory spaces within local communities that stimulate youth protagonism. Strong demand for international exchange and peer learning among youth workers to validate and enrich practices and increase the recognition of youth work. In this framework, GUIDE aims to provide a concrete and shared response, developing an innovative approach to youth work based on guidance, mentoring, and the co-creation of replicable practices. The objectives of the project are clear and directly address the identified needs: Provide youth workers with guidance and coaching tools to accompany young people with fewer opportunities in pathways of personal and professional empowerment. Strengthen youth workers’ competences in participatory facilitation, with particular attention to creating inclusive and accessible spaces for youth participation. Promote the exchange of good practices among 7 organisations from different geographical areas of the EU and extra-EU (Moldova and Turkey), fostering intercultural and innovative approaches. Co-create a Manual of Guidance Practices, gathering methodologies and replicable tools to be made available for youth workers and youth organisations. Consolidate an international network of youth workers and organisations committed to promoting inclusion, resilience, and active citizenship. Reinforce the capacity of the partnership to operate in co-design and shared responsibility, ensuring the sustainability and continuation of the practices developed beyond the project’s duration. GUIDE aims to generate a systemic impact in youth work, where youth workers become true “guides” capable of supporting vulnerable young people through the innovative and multidisciplinary educational and methodological approach proposed by the project. This will trigger chain processes in local communities and strengthen the sector at European level through the visibility and dissemination of the results.
