Beeyond Boundaries project aims to improve the skills of youth workers, exchange good practices and find innovative solutions to propose at a local level. The goal is to involve more young people in environmental protection and to train individuals who can guide youth toward sustainable life and career choices. This meeting will be an opportunity for young people to discover beekeeping and to engage in a peer-to-peer discussion about replicating the experience of Api Romane’s project in the peri-urban area of Rome. They can also explore developing complementary local projects or participating in international and volunteer projects focused on environmental issues. The participating organizations and youth workers will be available to support new local activities that match the interests of young people. The hope is to create networks for social and civic participation that benefit the environment, vulnerable individuals, and the community. Urban (and other) beekeeping methods offer innovative perspectives for sustainability education and empower all the actors in order to reduce behaviors that are risky for the environment and its habitat. It also helps combat biodiversity loss, which is already threatened by climate change.
