Objectives

The main objective of our project is to strengthen the competences of youth workers in managing disinformation and online hate, promoting effective digital advocacy and media literacy practices within their organizations and local communities. We aim to support participants in acquiring practical tools and theoretical knowledge that can be immediately translated into concrete actions with young people. The specific objectives are: Enhance digital and media literacy competences: improve youth workers’ ability to recognize fake news, polarizing narratives, and hate content, and to develop effective strategies to counter them. Promote digital advocacy practices: support participants in designing and implementing online awareness campaigns, fostering active youth participation and digital citizenship. Immediate application of learning: facilitate the practical use of acquired knowledge through hands-on activities, interviews, and workshops to be carried out within their organizations and communities. Build an international network of youth workers: create opportunities for exchange among youth workers from different countries, fostering collaboration, mentorship, and mutual support even after the training. Promote inclusion and youth participation: develop tools and methodologies that enable the involvement of young people from diverse backgrounds, including migrants and refugees, in disinformation prevention and digital advocacy. Ensure continuity and impact of the project: through the toolkit, follow-up activities within organizations, and the virtual participant network, ensure that the competences gained continue to positively influence youth work practices even after the training concludes. In summary, the project aims to empower youth workers by providing them with practical competences, innovative tools, and collaborative networks, enhancing the impact of their work at both local and international levels.
