Objectives

The aim of the project "Und du so…?" is to strengthen youth workers in Liechtenstein and Vorarlberg in dealing professionally with young people experiencing psychological distress. Against the backdrop of increasing mental health challenges among youth, youth workers need concrete tools, confidence in communication, and a clear understanding of their role in times of crisis. The project pursues the following main objectives: Increase practical confidence in youth work settings Youth workers will learn to identify signs of psychological distress early, respond appropriately, and remain action-oriented—without underestimating or overstepping their professional role. Promote low-threshold and gender-sensitive communication skills Through training in the “Und du so?” conversation method, participants will be equipped to address sensitive topics such as anxiety, overwhelm, or suicidal thoughts in a professional, respectful, and open way. Strengthen protective factors and self-care within youth work Participants will reflect on their own attitudes, boundaries, and responsibilities. They will learn how to build stable relationships with young people while protecting their own well-being. Build regional and cross-border networks The project fosters professional exchange between youth workers from Liechtenstein and Vorarlberg. It creates space for collegial consultation, shared learning, and long-term cooperation. Ensure sustainable transfer into youth work organisations Participants will be supported in bringing the acquired methods, materials, and approaches into their organisations—acting as multipliers for mental health promotion in youth work. Conclusion: The project contributes directly to the quality assurance and professionalisation of youth work in a highly relevant field. It empowers youth workers to be reliable, informed, and reflective support persons for young people facing mental health challenges—without leaving them alone.
