Objectives

The project aims to empower young people from rural areas and care institutions by engaging them in meaningful intercultural and creative experiences. Through non-formal learning and international cooperation, the project supports participants in developing key competences, building confidence, and feeling part of a shared European story. From the youth work perspective, the project pursues the following objectives: 1. To empower rural youth through intercultural exchange and peer connection: The project creates a supportive, inclusive space where young people aged 13–17 can form bonds across borders, explore shared challenges, and learn from one another. By living, learning, and creating together, they develop communication skills, self-confidence, and a stronger sense of belonging — both locally and in a wider European context. 2. To preserve and celebrate cultural heritage through youth-led creative activities: Participants will exchange traditional songs and dances from their regions, learn from each other, and co-create a shared cultural showcase. This encourages young people to take ownership of their local traditions, express themselves creatively, and see cultural heritage as something living, shared, and meaningful to their generation. 3. To promote social inclusion and equal access to international learning: The project specifically includes youth with fewer opportunities, including those from care institutions and remote villages. The methodology of youth work — based on peer support, empathy, and non-formal education — ensures everyone can participate equally, be heard, and feel valued, regardless of their background or ability. 4. To encourage reflection on rural depopulation and ageing societies through dialogue and shared experiences: Living and learning together in a rural village, participants will reflect on what it means to grow up in a changing countryside. Through storytelling, group discussions, and creative expression, they’ll explore common issues such as emigration, disconnection, and the future of their communities — and gain tools to become active contributors to rural resilience. Overall, the project brings together diverse youth in a setting where cultural pride, critical thinking, and community engagement are nurtured — all in line with the values of high-quality youth work.
