This project is one of such solutions and its aim is to spark the inertia that affects youth in two fronts: 1. Low level of youth entrepreneurship activities 2. Low level of access to digital and creative education, namely in engineering. After having these extensive discussions with the young participants from previously implemented youth exchange project, we contacted the partners that participated in our project: RO, SK and EE. The members of partners confirmed that they suffer from the same concerns in their communities and they would gladly join the project on the topic of engineering as a way to fight youth unemployment without hesitation. Identification of the problem The levels of Youth unemployment in European Union in general have been increasing in the last couple of years, according to the statistics of 2024 by OECD it remains at unacceptable numbers of 13,8%. In Lithuania, the national situation is above average with 9,3% but the situation is not generalized to every region in the country and it is higher in the Sudovia region where the association activates. The same happens in the small communities where our partners activate. The level of youth unemployment in Slovakia 20,2,3%, in Estonia was 20%, Romania even 22,3%. These numbers are above the European Union average and send an alarming signal. Adding to this in all the 4 communities, there is a significantly low level of entrepreneurial activity, with young people not willing to take risks in creating their own opportunities. Engineering today brings to life many different outcomes. It is important to understand that engineering does not refer to only building things, but involves with great base the digital processes, such as programming, modelling, electronics, robotics and such. Engineering skills are pertained within many different digital domains that people do not usually understand that it was brought to life by the specialty of engineer. This indicates that engineering is employed in an important fields. Various engineering fields are becoming more and more attainable for the implementation of ordinary people by providing easy access applications such as OnShape, SolidWorks, MicroBit and Arduino, that are widely used in the industry. Engineering provides various innovations and even adds to the scientific and technological development of the world and it may serve as an enormous enhancer of youth employment in the digital field; we can even now take further steps to make engineered projects to create ideas to real products. The young people from all the 4 partner communities don’t have easy access to the necessary environments where they can explore and learn more about this topic and so, this project aims to provide that. Goal The goal of this project is to introduce or develop young participants’ skills in engineering and boost their active engagement in entrepreneurial activities. The project foresees one mobility: a YE to take place in Elniakampis, Lithuania, between 07.04-16.04.2026. The youth exchange will involve 40 young participants from 4 countries: Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia and Estonia, including 16 participants who are facing fewer opportunities and also 8 group leaders and 2 experts in the topic as facilitators and 1 staff member. Objectives By the end of the project we will reach the following objectives: Objective 1. Introduce 40 participants from Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia and Estonia to all creative stages of engineering. Objective 2. Increase the confidence of 40 participants from Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia and Estonia to engage in entrepreneurial activities using engineering. Objective 3. Raise the awareness of 40 participants, from Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia and Estonia to entrepreneurial activities they can engage in by having engineering skills and how to implement them towards the positive change in the communities. The objectives of the youth exchange directly contribute to the Erasmus+ program objectives and priorities
