Objectives

As a young organization still developing our community and exploring impactful areas of work, we aim to focus on well-being through practices such as self-love, acceptance, mindfulness, relationship skills, community building, and cultural identity. To ensure our work responds to real youth needs, we regularly engage in conversations with young people online and through collaborations with youth centers in Vilnius, including Žalianamis, MES, and Šatrija. We also reflect with our international partners on past and future activities, identifying topics that are highly relevant and meaningful for both their organizations and participants. From these experiences, we recognized that creating and maintaining healthy romantic relationships is a pressing challenge for young people today, often causing anxiety, uncertainty, and feelings of lack of control. These insights, combined with our work in mental health and emotional well-being projects, led us to design this youth exchange, creating a safe space for reflection, learning, and skill-building around relationships. Our research and youth work highlight key issues: difficulty establishing sustainable romantic connections, uncertainty and superficiality in digital interactions, unclear boundaries, pressure from unrealistic media-driven expectations, low self-acceptance, and social isolation. These challenges are evident across Europe, including Italy, Estonia, Greece and Hungary, and affect young people’s confidence, emotional health, and social participation. From these insights, the objectives of our project are to: Understand how digital tools, social media, and dating apps shape relationships, including common online behaviors and their psychological effects. Develop emotional and communication skills, including self-awareness, active listening, boundary-setting, and conflict resolution. Strengthen media literacy and critical thinking regarding online culture, romantic myths, and societal pressures. Foster self-reflection, empathy, and understanding through creative methods and open dialogue on sensitive relational topics. Create a safe and inclusive space for sharing perspectives and experiences regarding romantic relationships. Promote authentic, responsible, and emotionally sustainable relationships in both online and offline life.
