Objectives

The project aims to strengthen young people’s communication competences and show them how these skills can be used in practice when addressing environmental issues. Many young people struggle to adapt their communication to different audiences, to understand boundaries, or to recognise when stereotypes or humour create barriers instead of dialogue. At the same time, environmental challenges such as recycling, waste reduction, and climate awareness require cooperation and clear communication across generations and communities. By combining these two dimensions, the project seeks to give participants both the knowledge and the tools to make their voices heard in a constructive, responsible, and creative way. The objectives are: *To raise awareness of the different forms of communication (verbal, non-verbal, digital) and how they can be adapted for specific age groups and contexts. *To encourage participants to critically analyse communication strategies, including stereotypes, humour, and misleading practices such as greenwashing. *To strengthen creativity and adaptability through interactive methods such as roleplays, theatre, simulations, and digital content creation. *To deepen intercultural dialogue by sharing national realities, identifying similarities and differences, and overcoming stereotypes. *To foster reflection and peer-to-peer feedback so participants can test their own communication styles, recognise mistakes, and improve their impact. *To use environmental topics, and particularly the issue of recycling, as a practical field where participants can research, practice, and apply their communication skills. From the perspective of youth work, the project follows non-formal education principles: learning by doing, reflection, and peer support. It creates a safe environment for experimentation, mistakes, and feedback, where young people learn to communicate more effectively not only with their peers but also with wider society.
