The main aim of the project “Journey Across Culture and Traditions” is to promote intercultural understanding and cooperation among young people from different countries – Latvia, Romania, Poland, France, Cyprus, and Turkey. The project seeks to reduce stereotypes, prejudices, and discrimination that arise from cultural differences and lack of knowledge. Young people will explore the traditions and values of different countries, develop global thinking, and gain a deeper understanding of the diversity within the European community. Problems and needs addressed by the project: Insufficient understanding of other cultures; Lack of tolerance and respect; Language barriers; Discrimination and stereotypes. The main objectives of the project are: Promotion of intercultural understanding – educational activities and discussions will help young people learn about different cultural values and traditions, thus reducing prejudice and stereotypes. Encouraging tolerance and respect – participants will be encouraged to embrace diversity and respect others regardless of their culture, religion, or ethnic background. Improvement of communication and language skills – participants will improve their English language skills and learn basic knowledge of partner languages, fostering intercultural dialogue. Community engagement and global citizenship – young people will be encouraged to actively participate in local communities and promote intercultural dialogue, thus creating a lasting impact on society. Development of cooperation and teamwork skills – the project will strengthen young people’s ability to work together, share experiences, and solve problems collectively. The project aims to foster mutual understanding and cooperation among young people by encouraging openness, tolerance, and respect for the richness of different cultures, while also reinforcing the idea of a peaceful and united world. By learning about other cultures, young people will broaden their perspective on global diversity and recognize that people can live, think, and act in different ways. At the same time, the project will emphasize that, despite our differences, in our hearts we are all human beings with similar needs and feelings, capable of working together, building friendships, and creating an inclusive and understanding society.
