Objectives

From a youth work practice perspective, our primary aim is to move beyond merely discussing youth loneliness and instead provide a proactive, experiential, and replicable intervention. Our project is designed to address the stark findings of our pre-project survey, which revealed that 64.3% of young people across our partner countries experience loneliness "often" or "very often," primarily due to difficulty finding like-minded people (85.7%) and a lack of community spaces (78.6%). Therefore, our specific youth work objectives are to: Build Foundational Social Competence: To equip young people with practiced, tangible social and emotional skills, such as initiating conversation, active listening, and collaborative problem-solving,through structured "Connection Labs" and non-formal education methods, thereby breaking the cycle of anxiety and isolation. Empower Youth as Agents of Change: To transition participants from being beneficiaries of support to becoming active community architects. This is achieved through participant-led workshops and the co-creation of new project proposals, fostering a sense of ownership and agency over their social lives. Create and Disseminate a Sustainable Methodology: To develop a comprehensive "Find Your Tribe" methodology, including activities like the "Skill-Swap Marketplace" and "Interest Cluster Mapping",that is compiled into a free, open-source Digital Toolkit. This allows youth workers and organizations across Europe to replicate this effective model, thereby multiplying its impact far beyond our direct participants. Strengthen the European Youth Work Ecosystem: To formalize a strategic partnership between our four organizations, using this project as a foundation to share best practices, apply for larger-scale funding (e.g., Cooperation Partnerships), and collectively advance the mission of creating more inclusive and connected communities for young people.
