Ice & Fire focuses on the professional growth of youth workers and our partner organisations by training in outdoor education and experiential learning methods, building resilience, leadership and an entrepreneurial mindset - and by turning these into simple, practical activities for young people. Across re:view and partner networks, many young people feel unprepared for the job market; they are ambitious about entrepreneurship but lack the tools to start. Youth workers want to help with innovative, non-formal methods, yet they also need support themselves: this work is demanding and many ask for resilience training to avoid burnout. In recent years, more NGOs have reached out to re:view because of our experience in experiential learning and outdoor education and the strong results of our trainings. Our project idea is simple: strengthen youth workers so they can better support young people. The TC blends outdoor and experiential learning with clear safety, reflection, and a strong focus on transfer to daily youth work. Partners then share the methods through short, practical activities and easy-to-find resources so good ideas travel beyond the group. The objectives of this project are: *To equip young people (through the work of trained youth workers) with the resilience, entrepreneurial, and leadership skills necessary to face the job market, take initiative, and build quality lives. *To strengthen youth workers’ personal resilience and leadership so they can sustain their work and act as role models. *To provide youth workers with innovative outdoor and experiential methods (such as adventure therapy, rejection therapy, ice swimming, coal walking, and nature-based learning) to use directly with their target groups. *To create tangible outputs (8 videos, 8 articles, 8 events, 10+ social media posts) that spread these methods to young people, NGOs, and communities across Europe. *To strengthen the capacity and quality of youth work practice of 8 youth-focused organizations in Europe *To develop a strong network of organisations and professionals, sharing practices and supporting each other in equipping youth for today’s challenges. This project links to the objectives of Erasmus+ Mobility of youth workers: *Learning mobility and professional development: we directly support the development of youth workers through a high-quality non-formal TC focused on resilience, leadership and simple entrepreneurship tools. *Non-formal and informal learning: we use experiential and outdoor methods and build in reflection so learning is practical and ready to use. *Active participation and capacity building: participants take on real roles (co-creating outputs, leading local sharing moments) and bring stronger practice back to their organisations. *Quality, inclusion and innovation: we embed inclusion of people facing barriers, keep logistics greener where realistic, use simple digital tools for prep and sharing, and pilot innovative outdoor/experiential approaches that others can adopt. *Community building among youth workers: we create a small European peer network that continues after the TC to exchange tools, support each other and co-create next steps.
