Objectives

Nowadays we are witnessing that young people spend significant amount on time on social media, this observation has lead us to discuss the consequences of this behavior. Spending too much time on social media can lead to social isolation as individuals may spend less time interacting with others in person. What is even more worrying social media can create unrealistic expectations about success and body image due to constant confrontation, which can lead to negative self-image, low self-esteem and body dysmorphia. In fact, social media creates constant pressure on youth to be successful in their lives. This pressure can increase a feeling of anxiety and lead to social immobilism. Sports provide a platform for building confidence, developing team-building skills, and providing a sense of belonging that can be essential for young people. Sports provide opportunities for young people to learn that failure is a natural part of the learning process and that mistakes can be a valuable learning experience encouraging a growth mindset. When young people engage in sports, they have the opportunity to set and achieve goals. This sense of accomplishment can help build confidence and self-esteem, which can in turn help young people overcome the fear of failure and social immobilism. The goals of the project: The objectives of the project are following: - Promote practicing of sport and physical activity as a meaningful tool for development, recognising the potential to empower, motivate and inspire. - Help young people understand the benefits of sport activities and provide them with tools to foster well-being - Contribute to building self-confidence and developing teamwork and leadership skills of youth, and allow them to learn how to cope with failure - Promoting healthy lifestyle by helping participants understand the importance of self-care and identify and create personalized self-care routines - Explore how sport can develop resilience in young people and raise awareness about importance of sport as method to reduce stress - Share best practices and success stories from different countries on how sport is used as a tool to address isolation and build resilience - Encourage participants to work together to develop projects and initiatives that use sport to promote social inclusion and well-being in their own communities, fostering active citizenship in young people, allowing them to build supportive relationships and strengthen a sense of belonging - Enhance cross-cultural understanding and communication among the participants from different backgrounds and cultures, by fostering mutual understanding, respect and cohesion.
