Objectives

We decided to carry out this project because we’ve seen how often young people fall victim to online scams, often without even realizing it. Whether it's a fake investment scheme promoted by an influencer, a phishing message disguised as a job offer, or a too-good-to-be-true online store, these frauds are becoming more sophisticated and harder to spot. Many young people lack the tools to critically assess what they see online, and they rarely receive practical guidance on how to manage digital transactions safely. Although they’re considered digital natives, they’re not always financially literate or emotionally prepared to recognize manipulation tactics, especially when scams play on urgency, trust, or peer pressure. The main aim of the project is to empower young people to recognize, avoid, and respond to financial scams and fraud online through experiential learning and creative media production. We will do this through hands-on activities that combine education with innovation, making a complex topic engaging and deeply relevant. Our objectives are clearly defined: To help participants recognize different types of digital financial scams and understand how they spread across online platforms. To equip youth with practical skills to safely navigate digital payments, protect personal information, and spot fraud in real time. To empower young people to critically analyse online content, especially social media ads, influencer campaigns, and get-rich-quick schemes. To enable participants to co-create digital awareness materials to educate others in their communities.
