In a fast-paced world like ours, raising awareness about the Sustainable Development Goals can be easy, but it is also challenging. While we strive to achieve these goals and meet these target dates for a better world, we are finding it difficult to let go of the commodities we are accustomed to. The emerging new generation should consider using their resources to promote sustainable practices and foster cultural change in this direction. The younger generation is set to inherit trillions of monies. Many inheritors tend to purchase large, luxurious vehicles, high-performance sports cars, or speedboats, or perhaps a bigger house. We all need to reduce our ambitions and avoid power-hungry items that harm the environment. We spend too much time dividing ourselves over status and narcissism. We are missing out on a humble and caring community, a vital foundation for supporting and believing in the Sustainable Development Goals. By teaching and empowering young people how to take action on the SDGs and showing them the avenues they can pursue, they can be guided to have a meaningful impact on their communities. It’s easy to feel small and insignificant as a youth and not know how to take impactful action. If young people are unaware of the SDGs, their purpose, or the urgency with which we must achieve them, we cannot expect them to take action. That’s why it is essential we help direct young people to concrete ways that they can contribute to achieving the SDGs. All the Sustainable Development Goals collectively aim to achieve a better world. We strive for the participants in this project to devise and design solutions to address the world’s problems. The next generation needs to be aware of these problems. 'City of Us' will also be aiming to connect youth with global challenges and provide them with the skills, knowledge, and platforms to create local solutions. The most important thing for our target group is to encourage and guide them to consider that when planning and generating ideas for a sustainable world, it can be summarised into three core principles: Integration, Inclusivity, and a Long-Term Systems Approach. Objectives: - To develop innovative methodologies that increase effective participation of young people by encouraging the participants to create and implement innovative solutions. They will be encouraged to use a "think globally, act locally" approach, inspiring them to design creative, local-level initiatives that address specific SDGs, with a focus on 21st-century skills - creativity, teamwork, problem solving, communication, and critical thinking, and most of all, the creation of the 'City of Us.' - To Strengthen Collaboration: Creating a sense of community and collaboration among the young participants who come from different backgrounds. By fostering peer-to-peer learning and networking, 'City of Us' enables the 5 countries to build alliances and collaborate to achieve common goals.
