Objectives

Training 4 Game Changers is a strategic capacity-building initiative aimed at empowering youth workers to innovate, include, and inspire through game-based learning. The project responds to a growing need in European youth work for creative, participatory methodologies that engage young people meaningfully and inclusively. By equipping youth workers with the competences to design and facilitate educational games, the project seeks to elevate youth work practice and foster long-term impact across diverse communities. The overarching goal is to strengthen the professional identity and practical toolkit of youth workers, enabling them to act as “game changers” in their local and international contexts. Through a seven-day residential training course, participants will explore how games can be used not just for entertainment, but as powerful vehicles for learning, inclusion, and empowerment. From the perspective of youth work practice, the project pursues the following key objectives: 1. Enhance Competences in Game-Based Learning Youth workers will acquire practical skills to design, adapt, and facilitate educational games tailored to youth work settings. They will learn how to use play as a pedagogical tool to foster reflection, dialogue, and personal growth among young people. 2. Promote Inclusive and Participatory Facilitation The training will deepen participants’ understanding of inclusive practices, intercultural sensitivity, and learner-centred facilitation. Youth workers will be equipped to create safe spaces where all young people feel seen, heard, and valued. 3. Strengthen Project Design and Evaluation Skills Participants will develop competences in planning youth activities with clear objectives, structured timetables, and measurable outcomes. They will explore tools for monitoring impact and ensuring quality in non-formal education. 4. Foster Peer Learning and Strategic Networking The project will create a vibrant learning community where youth workers exchange experiences, co-create tools, and build partnerships for future Erasmus+ projects. This peer-to-peer dynamic reinforces professional growth and cross-border collaboration. 5. Support Local Multiplication and Sustainability Each participant will be supported to implement follow-up activities in their local context, transferring the methods and insights gained to young people and fellow practitioners. This ensures that the project’s impact extends beyond the training itself. Ultimately, Training 4 Game Changers aims to contribute to a more dynamic, responsive, and inclusive youth work sector in Europe. By investing in the creativity and capacity of youth workers, the project helps ensure that young people across Erasmus+ countries benefit from engaging, empowering, and transformative learning experiences.
