Objectives

With our project EmpowerNet – Digital Skills for YOUth, we want to equip 18 young people from Norway, Georgia and Ukraine with practical competences to face today’s digital risks. The main objectives are to teach them how to identify and avoid social engineering cyber threats such as phishing, smishing, vishing and quishing; to strengthen their ability to critically evaluate manipulated images, propaganda and AI-generated online content and to give them tools to create ethical digital campaigns that promote safe and responsible digital behavior. In particular, the objectives of the project are: 1. To strengthen young people’s ability to critically evaluate digital content, recognize manipulated images, AI-generated content and propaganda online and combat disinformation in their daily lives. 2. To build cybersecurity awareness, especially the ability to identify phishing, smishing, vishing and quishing attempts, so young people can protect themselves and their communities. 3. To foster inclusivity and cross-cultural dialogue between Norwegian, Ukrainian and Georgian youth, encouraging them to learn from each other’s realities, such as dealing with war-related propaganda or bridging digital divides. 4. To develop transferable digital competences such as content creation, fact-checking and ethical online behavior, which support young people’s active citizenship and employability. 5. To ensure participants act as multipliers after the exchange by leading local workshops and online digital campaigns that will engage at least 600 of their peers. From the perspective of youth work, this means supporting young people not only to gain knowledge in workshops, but also to practice peer learning, intercultural teamwork and active citizenship. By the end of the project, they will be ready to share what they learned through concrete follow-up actions such as community workshops and social media awareness raising campaigns that will reach at least 600 of their peers in Norway, Ukraine and Georgia.
