Through this project, we aim to empower young people aged 16–22 to become active, environmentally aware, and socially responsible citizens by engaging them in water-based activities that combine sports, sustainability, and inclusion. The project promotes mental and physical health through kayaking, windsurfing, sailing, snorkeling, and other non-motorized sports, while also encouraging participants to build a strong relationship with nature and value marine ecosystems. Our main objectives are to: - Promote social inclusion through sport by showing how adapted and inclusive water activities can break down barriers, increase empathy, and create equal opportunities. - Raise environmental awareness by connecting participants directly with nature through activities such as turtle monitoring, beach cleaning, and snorkeling, helping them understand the real impact of human actions on the marine environment. - Encourage active and healthy lifestyles, using sport in nature to improve well-being, teamwork, and resilience while highlighting sustainable leisure alternatives. - Develop an understanding of the “Blue Economy” and the importance of protecting “blue gold” (usable water), and reflect on how everyday choices can contribute to sustainable development goals. - Promote intercultural dialogue and European values by bringing together young people from Italy, Portugal, Norway, and the Canary Islands in a spirit of solidarity, tolerance, and mutual learning. - Inspire young people to take responsibility and act by designing small personal or community initiatives that turn awareness into lifelong commitment. In this way, the project combines youth work, non-formal education, and outdoor activities to foster personal growth, environmental responsibility, and social inclusion for a healthier and more sustainable future.
