With EcoExpressions: Creative Youth for a Greener Tomorrow, the project aims to create meaningful opportunities for young people to connect, learn, and raise awareness about climate change through creative tools such as art, filmmaking, photography, theater, and music. While many young people care about environmental issues, some find it difficult to engage or take action, as confirmed by our survey of around 50 young people across the three partner countries. This youth exchange is designed to facilitate peer learning, enabling participants to increase their understanding of environmental challenges and to express their perspectives in creative and impactful ways, while also developing essential life skills. From a youth work perspective, the project focuses on: -Facilitating spaces where young people can explore how climate change is affecting different regions of Europe and share reflections on how these changes relate to their own personal experiences and communities. To support this, we will use gamification methods, including the Climate Fresk game, which is based on the latest IPCC reports, to make complex climate science accessible and engaging. -Making environmental concepts more approachable and relevant by employing creative, hands-on methods that resonate with youth interests and encourage active participation. -Encouraging active citizenship, intercultural dialogue, and teamwork through collaborative group tasks, community-based games, and shared learning experiences. -Utilizing non-formal and peer learning approaches that foster self-confidence, build communication skills, and promote inclusion among diverse participants. -Supporting ongoing self-reflection and recognition of learning through the Youthpass framework and the European key competences, which participants will explore and present collectively. We believe that providing young people with spaces to create and communicate allows them to own their learning journey and become agents of change. By integrating creativity with informed dialogue, the project helps participants move from awareness to motivation, empowering them to contribute actively to climate action.
