The project aims to strengthen youth participation, democratic understanding, and interregional cooperation. All county youth councils are legally mandated through the Local Government Act. They share the same foundation but work in different ways and use various methods to ensure youth involvement. We will organize a conference where participants gain knowledge and awareness of the importance of genuine participation in societal development, and how to ensure it happens. Democracy is under pressure, and it is crucial to amplify young voices. Members of the youth councils will explore how they can counteract exclusion so more youth feel included, involved, and safe. The conference will lift youth voices. In a world with increasing polarization, hostility toward differing opinions, and marginalization of vulnerable groups, a participatory democracy where more voices are heard is essential.
