Objectives

The project involves 5 countries and 43 persons, focusing on the specific needs and challenges faced by rural youth and NEETs. By using non-formal education (NFE), we will increase comprehensive understanding of Nazism, its ideology, and the atrocities committed during the Nazi regime. Young people will gain knowledge about the historical context and the lasting impact of war conflicts on individuals, communities, and the global world. Participants will reflect on the moral dimensions of difficult historical events and explore issues of justice, human dignity, and moral responsibility in preventing future atrocities and promoting peace. The project will contribute to the development of critical thinking skills through the analysis of historical events, ideologies, and their consequences. Participants will learn to critically assess information sources, narratives, and perspectives related to war conflicts. Project activities will strengthen their critical thinking abilities and media literacy, enabling them to distinguish reliable information from propaganda. Young people will be equipped with tools to critically evaluate extremist narratives, recognize manipulation techniques, and make informed decisions based on evidence and rational analysis, which will contribute to the prevention of radicalism and extremism. The project will also foster a sense of belonging and solidarity, allowing young people to resist radicalization and extremist ideologies through positive social interactions and cultural awareness. Project objectives: Raise historical and cultural awareness about Nazism and war conflicts, including their ideology, atrocities, and the long-lasting impact on individuals, communities, and the world. Educate rural youth about the crimes committed during the Nazi regime, including the Holocaust, mass killings, and human rights abuses, to instill empathy, solidarity, and respect for human dignity towards war victims. Develop critical thinking skills so that young people can assess information sources, distinguish between reliable news and misinformation, and reduce the spread of fake news and conspiracy theories. Support resilience-building and mental health by equipping rural youth with the competences and resources needed to cope with adversity and reduce susceptibility to radical narratives, propaganda, and extremist tactics. Encourage the elimination of hate speech among young people in the EU. Support peer-to-peer empowerment of youth to actively promote peace, tolerance, and social justice within their local communities. Encourage young people to become leaders of positive change by standing up against hate speech, discrimination, and extremist behaviors, fostering a culture of inclusivity and mutual respect. By developing the ability to critically analyze information and identify hate speech in various forms—including discriminatory language, stereotypes, and content shared on social media—young people will be able to implement ethical behaviors such as respectful communication, digital activism against hate speech, and the promotion of positive human interactions. The project aims to raise historical and cultural awareness among rural youth about Nazism and war conflicts, highlighting their ideologies, crimes, and profound impact on individuals, communities, and the world. By delving into Nazi crimes, including the Holocaust and mass killings, the project strengthens empathy, solidarity, and a sense of dignity towards war victims. Moreover, the project develops young people’s critical thinking skills, enabling them to distinguish reliable information from misinformation and combat the spread of fake news and conspiracy theories. By equipping youth with tools for resilience and psychological support, the project enhances their ability to cope with difficulties and resist radical narratives, extremist tactics, and propaganda. In the spirit of promoting inclusivity and tolerance, the project supports the idea of eliminating hate speech among young people in the EU, encouraging them to actively promote peace, tolerance, and social justice in their communities. Through peer-to-peer initiatives, young people will be empowered as leaders of positive change who are able to oppose discrimination and extremism, creating a culture of respect and social inclusion.
