Objectives

As the the Emissions Gap Report 2024 report explains, the nations need to cut in half annual greenhouse gas emissions until 2029 to succeed in limiting the effects of global warming. Otherwise, there is a risk that the frequency and intensity of the disastrous climate impacts that have shaken the planet in recent years will increase. Facing these conditions, people must move more quickly toward a decarbonized economy that protects the environment. Such a transition not only has the potential to stop climate change but also to become a real driver of growth by creating numerous green jobs in many sectors. Choosing Green Careers can be considered a significant driving force behind efforts to lower GHG emissions through their capacity to develop and propagate innovative green solutions. According to the World Youth Report produced by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, young people will be essential to sustainable development efforts at all levels. But, young people need more pathways to choose green careers since there is not enough knowledge input or practice throughout education systems. To deal with this gap, we young people from 5 countries- set up the partnership and developed our project: Green Paths for Green Careers (GRENCA). Our project's main AIM is to raise awareness of youngsters about green jobs, encouraging them to pave their way to green careers and contribute to sustainable economies in Europe. The specific OBJECTIVES are as follows: -to raise awareness of youngsters about climate change and its effect on employment trends -to help youngsters to understand the broad definition of a green job and sustainability sector -to enhance youngsters’ knowledge about challenges and opportunities of green careers -to help youngsters recognize some green skills and their growing trend -to develop youngsters’ skills of communication, creativity, active listening, interpersonal, and problem-solving via non-formal and interactive tools, exercises, and games -to support the inclusion of target groups with fewer opportunities -to promote youth mobility at the European level.
