Objectives

This project was born from personal and alarming experiences that made us realize how vulnerable young people are to manipulation. We witnessed experienced youth leaders at an Erasmus+ training being persuaded to walk on hot coals to supposedly "become invincible". We also observed a young man proudly taking a dietary supplement named... "dried mineral water". The final impulse for action, however, was the tragedy of a family from Guzów who lost their apartment due to debt, likely because of an inability to critically assess financial offers. These events proved that a lack of resilience to manipulation is not an abstract problem, but an issue that can destroy human lives. From the perspective of youth work practice, we see an urgent need to equip young people entering adulthood with real tools to defend themselves against disinformation. Our actions are a response to a world where the ability to distinguish facts from falsehood is crucial for making informed financial, professional, and civic decisions. The main goals of the project are: a) To strengthen the critical thinking skills of 28 young Europeans, enabling them to consciously navigate the world of finance, work, and media. b) To examine and compare how manipulation is perceived in four different cultural contexts: Poland, Lithuania, Spain, and Croatia, in order to build a deeper, cross-cultural understanding of this phenomenon. c) To promote active citizenship and democratic resilience by teaching how disinformation undermines social trust and how it can be countered. d) To empower neurodiverse youth by showcasing that their unique perspectives and different cognitive styles (e.g., the analytical thinking of individuals on the autism spectrum or the creativity of those with ADHD) can be a "superpower" in unmasking manipulation e) To co-create lasting results with participants, such as educational games and digital awareness campaigns, which will serve to further educate their peers and ensure the project has a multiplier effect
