The CyberBalance project was created as a response to the challenges that young people face in their daily lives. In our work with youth, we see growing difficulties in maintaining balance between the online and offline world. This was confirmed by surveys conducted in Włoszczowa (Poland) and in our partner cities in Estonia, Romania and Hungary. Young people pointed to problems such as excessive screen time, doomscrolling, sleep disorders and lack of concentration. At the same time, they highlighted that schools and educational institutions rarely address digital hygiene and mental well-being in the context of technology. Our aim is to create a space where young people can better understand the consequences of excessive technology use and gain practical tools to deal with these challenges. Within the project, participants will learn relaxation techniques and strategies for reducing time online, as well as develop critical thinking skills and the ability to use information responsibly. The project focuses on promoting healthy digital habits, strengthening social and leadership competences, and reducing inequalities for young people from smaller towns and rural areas, who often have limited access to digital education and international experiences. The youth exchange will allow participants to discover different perspectives, share their experiences and search for solutions together. It will also create opportunities to exchange good practices among partner organizations. CyberBalance addresses the priorities of the Erasmus+ programme, such as inclusion and diversity, digital transformation and the development of social and civic competences. Through this project, young people will gain knowledge and skills that will help them cope better in the digital world and become more active in their local communities as well as at the European level.
