Our project aims to develop communication skills and self-confidence among young people from 5 countries. The idea for the project arose as a result of previous youth exchanges, during which participants noticed how important effective communication is and how many young people struggle with it – especially during conversations in a foreign language and in an international environment. In order to better understand the needs of young people, we have already involved 12 volunteers to conduct interviews in their communities. We analyzed the opinions of more than 80 people (surveys), which confirmed that a lack of self-confidence in communication can negatively affect their private and professional lives. Then we created a plan for our project and its goals. The main goal of this project is to support participants in developing communication skills and building self-confidence, as well as enabling them to establish international contacts. Development of skills – within the project participants will learn at least 4 practical communication skills, such as: active listening, clear expression of thoughts, constructive expression of emotions, conflict resolution. International cooperation – Each participant will establish contact with peers from different countries, which will help them develop intercultural communication and cooperation skills. When preparing this project, one of the main principles will be to create a safe space in which participants will be able to practice self-confidence by engaging in various activities. An important element will be the support from group leaders and other participants. Thanks to non-formal education methods, peer support and the experience of international exchange, we want to equip young people with key skills needed in private and professional life. These activities will allow us to promote in practice the values of the EU, especially tolerance and the principles of democracy.
