Objectives

As an organization working with young people through physical activity, we are constantly looking for new ways to educate youth not only about sport itself but also about topics related to sports and a healthy lifestyle. For this reason, we decided to address the issue of healthy eating. We want to encourage young people to follow a balanced diet and embrace healthy lifestyle habits. Youth exchanges are, in our view, an excellent tool for achieving these goals. We have motivated the young people we work with on a daily basis to actively participate in this project, and we are already seeing significant results of this involvement – from establishing cooperation with the Latvian group, through choosing the project theme, to jointly preparing the programme of the exchange. Since this is also our third attempt to receive funding for this initiative, we want to show that young people do not give up easily and persistently strive to achieve their goals. The goals we set together with our youth for this project are: To promote healthy eating and lifestyle habits among young people – by creating a list of motivational ideas and examples of good practices that will inspire youth to adopt healthier routines in everyday life. To increase knowledge and practical skills related to nutrition – by developing simple and affordable recipes that show that healthy eating does not have to be expensive or complicated. To develop linguistic and social competences – through daily communication in English during the exchange and teamwork in international groups. To discover and appreciate cultural diversity – by spending time together, organizing cultural evenings, and learning about Polish, Latvian, and Russian-Ukrainian traditions represented in Rēzekne. To raise awareness of both physical and mental well-being – by combining workshops on healthy nutrition with sports, dance, and body awareness activities. To include young people with fewer opportunities – by ensuring the participation of youth from lower-income families in Poland and young people of Russian and Ukrainian origin in Latvia, who through this project will have the chance to take part in an international meeting, gain new competences, and feel that they are part of a common European community.
