Objectives

We want to implement the project RISE: European Youth Rising for Wellbeing and Inclusion, because in our daily work with young people we see that many of them face similar challenges, regardless of the country they live in. These include problems related to stress, uncertainty about the future, difficulties in peer relations, lack of self-confidence and a sense of exclusion. The pandemic, together with social and economic crises, has made these challenges even more serious. At the same time, young people often do not have a safe space to talk openly about these issues, to learn how to take care of their wellbeing, and to support each other. From the perspective of youth work practice, this means that we need initiatives which combine non-formal education, shared experiences and active civic participation. This is exactly what the RISE project aims to provide. Project objectives: 1. Strengthening young people’s wellbeing – by learning practical strategies for coping with stress, developing mindfulness, and balancing study, work and rest. 2. Building social and intercultural competences – participants will learn to work in international groups, resolve conflicts, communicate across cultures and express their opinions openly. 3. Developing digital and communication skills – young people will create their own content (videos, podcasts, infographics) and use it for dissemination activities. 4. Enhancing a sense of agency – the project will show young people that their ideas can influence local communities and that their voices matter also in dialogue with decision-makers. 5. Building European bonds and solidarity – participants will experience cultural diversity in practice and discover that, despite different backgrounds, they face similar challenges and share common values. The project addresses the needs we observe in our youth work: the need for self-expression, safe spaces for development and cooperation, and opportunities for young people to have a real impact on their environment. Through non-formal learning methods – such as forum theatre, storytelling or music-based activities – participants will learn by doing and reflecting, not just by theory. RISE will also be an opportunity for young people from Poland, Spain and Italy to share their perspectives and realize that, despite cultural differences, they face similar issues. This meeting will help them to build bridges of understanding, overcome stereotypes and develop joint solutions. For us as youth work organisations, the project is a practical response to real needs – both on an individual level (development of competences and wellbeing of participants) and on a social level (greater integration and youth participation in local and European life). We want the young people who take part in RISE to return not only with new experiences, but also with the conviction that their voices matter and that they are capable of becoming leaders of change in their schools, peer groups and communities. This is the greatest value that Erasmus+ can provide: young people learn that Europe is a shared space where their energy, ideas and actions truly make a difference.
