Objectives

The main goal of our project "Dance Your Mind 2.0" is to support young people in their mental well-being and personal development using Hustle dance, teamwork, and non-formal education. The project combines movement, creativity, intercultural exchange, and emotional support. It is designed especially for young people who want to feel more confident, develop leadership skills, and create positive change in their local communities. 1. Promote mental well-being through movement and expression We want to help young people feel better mentally and emotionally. Many participants come from places where they face stress, anxiety, or social isolation. Dance is a powerful tool to express emotions, reduce stress, and build confidence. By participating in daily dance activities and reflection sessions, young people will learn how to use dance as a way to care for their mental health. Our goal is that at least 90% of participants feel more confident and less stressed by the end of the exchange. 2. Develop leadership and youth work competences The project will support participants in becoming more active in their communities. Through practice, they will improve key competences such as communication, teamwork, planning, and group facilitation. Each participant will take small leadership roles during the exchange—such as leading warm-ups, sharing reflections, or supporting others in group tasks. By the end of the project, each group will have at least 2 participants who feel ready to organize a small dance-based activity in their home country. 3. Create equal opportunities and include young people with fewer chances A big part of our project is to include young people from different backgrounds—especially those who may have fewer opportunities in life due to financial, social, or educational reasons. We plan extra support measures such as mentoring, buddy systems, and accessible learning methods (visuals, videos, flexible group work). Our goal is that all participants feel welcome, respected, and involved. At least 25% of participants will come from such backgrounds. 4. Encourage intercultural understanding and inclusion The project brings together young people from different countries and cultures. Through shared dance sessions, games, group work, and discussions, they will learn about each other’s values, habits, and ways of thinking. We want participants to become more open-minded, tolerant, and able to work in international teams. We will use simple English, visuals, and small group formats to make sure everyone can follow. After the project, we hope that at least 80% of participants will feel more confident in intercultural situations. 5. Support community building through Hustle dance Hustle is a fun, accessible dance that helps build connections and teamwork. We want young people to feel inspired to share it with others back home. During the project, they will co-create simple dance-based activities (with cards and short videos) that can be used in schools, youth centres, and local events. Each group will organise at least one local event after the project, reaching around 150 people in total. 6. Make dance education more inclusive and accessible In many small towns, there are not many dance opportunities. We want to change that by creating simple tools and showing that dance is for everyone—regardless of age, level, or background. The toolkit created during the project (activity cards + short videos) will be shared online and used by schools, NGOs, and youth workers across Europe. We aim to reach 10+ external educators who will test the materials in their local context. Summary: Through "Dance Your Mind 2.0", we want to show that dance can be more than just fun—it can be a way to grow, connect with others, and feel better inside. The project supports young people in becoming more confident, active, and caring members of their communities. It uses simple tools, strong support systems, and the energy of youth work to create long-term impact.
