Objectives

Project Overview In today’s fast-paced and polarized world, teenagers face growing challenges in managing emotions, relationships, and communication—essential life skills often overlooked in traditional education. This project aims to transform the way youth workers teach emotional intelligence and empathy, equipping them with practical, play-based methods to help teenagers develop these skills, while fostering a sustainable network of professionals who can share and expand these practices. Aim: To empower 24 youth workers within six months with innovative, play-based methods for teaching Nonviolent Communication (NVC) to teenagers, enabling meaningful engagement and fostering emotional and social growth among young people. Objectives: Design and implement at least five play-based NVC activities tested in real youth work practice within three months. Create and share ten practical, teenager-friendly NVC tools co-designed from youth workers’ experience. Deliver seven interactive workshops for at least 50 teenagers, applying these tools in practice. Build a supportive peer community of 20 trained youth workers through four collaborative meetings. Strengthen a network of seven organizations focused on emotional well-being, empathy, and communication skills. Expected Achievements: Youth workers will gain hands-on experience in NVC and play-based approaches, leaving with practical tools for immediate use in their work. These methods will enhance their ability to engage teenagers in fun, inclusive, and meaningful ways, creating safe environments where young people—especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds—can openly express emotions and needs. Participants will strengthen their professional development through certification opportunities and increased confidence in facilitating workshops and group activities. Organizations will benefit from improved capacity to address emotional and social challenges. By sharing knowledge and tools within their organizations, local communities, and international networks, participants will generate lasting positive change, improved emotional well-being, and stronger collaboration across the youth work field.
