Objectives

The Digital YouthLab project aims to strengthen the digital skills of youth workers so they can better support young people in developing their digital abilities and managing diversity. The project responds to the changing technological, cultural, and social environment. It was inspired by a webinar organized by a Spanish organization, which highlighted the importance of digital skills in youth work. Many youth workers, especially those with less experience, lack the right tools and digital skills. Digital YouthLab aims to fill this gap by providing practical skills and tools that can be used directly in everyday work with young people. The project’s main goals for youth work practice include: - Increasing digital skills – participants will gain abilities that help them use technology more effectively in their work with young people. - Creating innovative tools to support integration and diversity – developing educational games, apps, and online campaigns that promote equality, reduce digital exclusion, and encourage intercultural integration. - Raising social awareness – increasing participants’ understanding of cultural diversity, inclusion, and social engagement. - Using non-formal education methods – supporting active participation, creativity, teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking among young people. - Building international networks and cooperation – giving youth workers the chance to exchange experiences with partners from different countries, broadening their perspective and enabling mutual learning. The project provides practical solutions that can be applied both internationally and locally, addressing the challenges faced by youth organizations. The activities will equip participants with tools and knowledge to effectively tackle diversity and integration issues, both offline and online. Digital YouthLab is based on research, consultations, and discussions with partners and local organizations. It was identified that younger youth workers often lack access to training and digital tools to manage cultural diversity and use technology effectively in their daily work. The project fights digital exclusion and supports inclusion by offering courses, workshops, and educational tools that promote equality and social engagement. In short, Digital YouthLab aims to empower youth workers so they can better support young people in a digital world while promoting values such as integration, diversity, and equality.
