Our Duck Anxiety project aims to address the growing mental health crisis among European youth through innovative nature-based interventions. From a youth work perspective, we want to: - Create safe spaces for open discussions about anxiety using the therapeutic power of natural environments, reducing stigmas through peer support and professional guidance. - Provide evidence-based coping strategies combining GAD-7 assessment tools with outdoor mindfulness activities, empowering young people to understand where their anxiety comes from and manage it effectively. - Foster cross-cultural understanding and resilience-building through international collaboration, allowing participants to develop supportive networks across European borders, forming friendships between partner countries. - Promote sustainable mental health practices by integrating environmental stewardship with wellbeing activities, demonstrating how caring for nature supports personal healing. - Enhance youth worker capacity through practical training in nature-based therapeutic techniques and crisis intervention protocols. By focusing on these objectives, we aim to create lasting positive change in how European youth workers can better approach mental health support of European youth and in their local communities. By providing innovative methodologies and ready to use activity sheets that can be replicated across diverse communities effortlessly.
