The PADDLE project aims to empower young people to become agents of change in their communities, promoting active participation, social inclusion, and sustainable development in rural areas. Through sports practices, non-formal education methodologies, and a collaborative environment, we aim to create opportunities for young people to develop essential skills to face current challenges such as climate change, mental and physical health, and inequality of opportunities. From the perspective of youth work, the project seeks to: • Strengthen youth participation: create safe and inclusive spaces where young people can express their ideas, share experiences, and actively contribute to the social transformation of their communities. • Promote inclusion and equal opportunities: give a voice to young people from rural areas and vulnerable contexts, ensuring their integration into local and European initiatives that foster social cohesion. • Increase environmental literacy and climate awareness: raise awareness among young people about environmental challenges and equip them with the skills to adopt more sustainable and responsible practices, both personally and within their communities. • Develop personal and professional skills: enhance digital, communication, leadership, content creation, and campaign management skills, preparing young people to be more active, creative, and independent. • Promote mental health and well-being: encourage healthier lifestyles and create spaces for dialogue about balancing mental, physical, and environmental health, strengthening individual and collective resilience. • Foster a sense of community and active citizenship: motivate young people to get involved in local initiatives, create awareness campaigns, and develop collaborative projects that contribute to the development of their communities. With PADDLE, we aim to create a lasting impact that goes beyond the duration of the project, inspiring young people to become leaders, solution-creators, and multipliers of good practices, contributing to more inclusive, sustainable, and participatory communities.
