From a youth work practice perspective, the ultimate goal of our "ReShape" project is to transform young participants from passive observers of a global problem like plastic pollution into active European citizens who can create and disseminate concrete solutions. We aim to support this broader goal with a series of concrete learning outcomes and behavioral changes. First, we aim to not only equip young people with knowledge about the impacts of plastic pollution but also develop critical thinking skills regarding the circular economy and sustainable consumption. This awareness is the first step toward lasting behavioral change. By leveraging the power of youth work to combine theory and practice, our project will not only raise awareness among participants but also provide them with concrete, applicable skills on how to repurpose plastic as a resource through upcycling workshops. This practical experience will give them the confidence to act creatively, rather than feeling helpless in the face of environmental concerns. At the end of the project, each participant will commit to organizing an awareness event in their local community, demonstrating this confidence and active citizenship spirit. Furthermore, by bringing together young people from different cultures around a common goal, we aim to strengthen their mutual understanding, tolerance, and teamwork skills. This intercultural dialogue will strengthen young people's awareness of European citizenship and enable them to view local issues from a global perspective. We are designing the project by integrating modern tools such as digital storytelling and social media literacy into traditional youth work methods. This will help young people develop life skills such as communication, leadership, and project management, while also officially recognizing this experience through Youthpass. Our ultimate goal is to establish a sustainable youth network that will remain in contact, support each other, and foster new collaborations after the project concludes. We will empower each participant as a "ReShape Ambassador" who will disseminate the knowledge and skills they acquire.
