We developed the “Weave of Belonging” project as a response to the growing need for empowerment, civic engagement and cohesion among young people who face various forms of discrimination. In the communities of the partner organizations, both from EU and non-EU countries, we observed common challenges among youth related to experiences of discrimination and marginalization, lack of confidence in their ability to generate change, limited access to intercultural learning and safe spaces for open dialogue, and, as a result, low levels of participation in democratic life. Therefore, through this project, we aim to achieve the following objectives: 1. To reduce prejudices and break boundaries among young people by facilitating a youth exchange in a setting based on trust, diversity, and intercultural dialogue, with participants from diverse environments of countries from and beyond EU. 2. To support participants in becoming more civically engaged by exploring discrimination and marginalization in their communities and designing digital materials to be promoted in order to raise awareness on these issues. 3. To encourage inclusive and fair behaviors among young people, through educational activities implemented by participants in their home communities following the project’s learning process.
