The You(th) Future project aims to empower young people to become active, responsible, and environmentally conscious citizens. Our main objective is to raise awareness about sustainability and climate change while providing participants with practical tools to act in their own communities. We want to help young people recognize their responsibility in shaping the future of Europe, not only as individuals but also collectively as active citizens. From a youth work perspective, the project focuses on using non-formal and informal learning to build key competences among participants: environmental knowledge, teamwork, creativity, critical thinking, and intercultural communication. Another important objective is to respond to the growing phenomenon of climate anxiety among young people by turning concerns into positive action. By participating, young people will learn how small, individual steps—when combined—can bring about significant social and environmental change. The project also seeks to strengthen youth work practice by fostering cooperation between partner organizations from Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, and Poland. Together, we aim to develop a sustainable methodology for addressing green issues and active citizenship in youth exchanges. In the long run, the project will inspire youth workers and young people to initiate new Erasmus+ projects on sustainability and democratic participation.
