Objectives

By implementing this project, we aim to address current challenges in the lives of adolescents and young Europeans, for whom social media has become a space for socialization, learning, and self-affirmation, but also a risk factor regarding emotional health, behavior, and ways of relating. From the perspective of youth work practice, the project seeks to provide a safe, interactive, and inclusive environment where participants can develop awareness, critical thinking, and digital competences through innovative non-formal methods. The first objective of the project is to increase awareness of how TikTok and other social networks influence the brain, emotions, and behavior. By involving 35 young people, including 10 with fewer opportunities, from Romania, Serbia, Turkey, Spain, and Portugal, the project aims to address this phenomenon through methods such as Debate, World Café, and Sociodrama. These methods allow experiential learning, critical reflection, and the practice of skills in expression and active listening, contributing to the development of more self-aware and autonomous young people. The second objective focuses on developing digital competences and media literacy. In a context where young people are permanently connected, it is essential that they learn to use the online environment responsibly, to identify reliable sources of information, and to communicate effectively. Through practical and creative activities, the project supports them in valuing their potential, developing initiative, and expressing their ideas in a constructive and safe way. Thirdly, the project promotes intercultural dialogue and European cooperation. By bringing together and fostering collaboration among young people from five different countries, they have the opportunity to discover common values, to practice empathy and mutual respect, and to experience European solidarity. The inclusive activities contribute to creating an active community that not only reflects cultural diversity but also transforms it into a resource for social cohesion and civic engagement. Thus, the project combines non-formal learning with the objectives of youth work, offering participants a space where they can become more self-aware, more digitally competent, and better prepared to contribute to a European society based on respect and solidarity.
