Our project is called "Voices of the future: democracy for youth" and is a youth exchange that started from the common need of four partner organizations to spread a correct perspective on democracy and the European Union among young people, through relevant information, intercultural collaboration, and non-formal education. Given the last election year, we believe it is very important to talk more about democracy, the European Union and its values, and democratic engagement. We say this in a context where totalitarian, isolationist, and nationalist tendencies, as well as politics based on hatred and manipulation, are gaining momentum, causing misinformation and often weakening people's trust in the European Union. Thus, following in-depth discussions with our partners, but also following a process of analyzing the needs of young people in partner communities, we decided that the main goal of this project is to create a suitable context for 28 participants to learn about democratic processes, the European Union, and the importance of youth involvement in the voting process. Over the course of these 10 months, we expect to achieve the following objectives: 1. At the end of the 10 months, the 28 participants will be determined to actively engage in the next elections and promote democratic values in their social circles and fundamental European rights. 2. By the end of the 7 days of mobility, all participants will have a clear knowledge base regarding: EU member states, institutions, and history, as well as fundamental values and rights. 3. By the end of the dissemination period, the 28 young people will have substantially developed at least three essential skills that every citizen in a democratic country needs: verifying information, arguing opinions, and critical thinking.
