Digital skills and competencesMedia literacy and tackling disinformationArtificial Intelligence (AI) and data usage

Objectives

Through this project, we aim to create a non-formal educational framework in which participants will learn how to use digital tools to strengthen their critical thinking as media consumers, enabling them to identify and counter disinformation, while also creating positive content with an impact on their communities. The project’s objectives are aligned with youth work practice and with the needs of young people in our communities: 1. Raising awareness among 30 young people about the phenomenon of fake news, the algorithms shaping access to information, and the role of AI in spreading/manipulating content, through interactive workshops and thematic discussions over 2 days. 2. Developing applied digital skills of participants by using highly creative tools (Canva, CapCut, AI applications, etc.) to produce educational digital outputs (videos, podcasts, infographics, online campaigns) during 3 days of activities. 3. Enhancing critical analysis abilities of participants by applying their digital competences in the creation of informative materials aimed at countering online manipulation, as well as through fact-checking simulations, interviews with locals, and comparisons between fictional scenarios and real-life situations, across 2 days. 4. Strengthening the partnership’s capacity to integrate media literacy and digital competences into their youth work activities and to develop awareness campaigns at the European level, using the project’s results as educational resources for dissemination. The project is designed on the principles of non-formal education and will apply interactive, creative, and collaborative methods to transform participants from simple information consumers into active agents of change. Through the planned activities, young people will learn not only how to protect themselves from manipulation and fake news, but also how to produce digital materials that promote truth, critical thinking, and intercultural dialogue. In this way, the project will contribute to shaping more responsible and active young people, capable of generating a positive impact in their communities while also promoting the responsible use of technology and the digital environment at a European level.
