Objectives

The main goal of the project is to enable the participating young people to consciously reflect on their own community and social engagement and to recognize that their active participation can contribute to the development of local and European communities. Our goal is for young people to experience that youth work is not just about organizing leisure activities, but also about learning processes in which community action, intercultural dialogue, and the development of civic competencies play a key role. The project's objectives can be defined on three levels. At the individual level, our goal is to develop young people's self-awareness, self-confidence, and skills, particularly in the areas of communication, teamwork, conflict management, and creative problem solving. From a youth work perspective, this means that participants are involved in an active learning process in which they not only acquire knowledge but also attitudes and skills that will help them in the long term. At the community level, our goal is for participants to experience the power of joint action and learn how to work responsibly and inclusively in a diverse group. During the youth exchange program, young people work together with peers from different cultural and social backgrounds, gaining first-hand experience of the benefits and challenges of diversity. In youth work practice, this means that participants gain experiences that strengthen their community awareness and solidarity. At the societal level, our goal is to contribute to strengthening young people's democratic participation and enabling them to respond responsibly to global challenges such as sustainability, equal opportunities, and cultural dialogue. The project therefore not only serves individual development, but also contributes to young people becoming active, conscious, and responsible European citizens. Overall, the aim of the project is to use youth work tools to create a learning process that simultaneously develops the participants' skills, strengthens their community ties, and generates long-term sustainable social impact.
