Objectives

Objectives from a youth work perspective: The first objective is focused on enhancing mental health awareness and education: -To equip young people (20-26) from Romania, Turkiye, Spain, Georgia, and Albania with the knowledge to understand and recognize mental health issues. -To use interactive workshops, storytelling, and peer-led discussions to create an engaging and relatable learning environment. -To provide accessible, stigma-free information to help participants navigate mental health challenges in their personal and professional lives. The second objective is focused on building self-confidence, coping strategies and emotional resilience: -To develop stress management, emotional regulation, and self-care techniques tailored for youth. -To use experiential learning methods (role-playing, mindfulness exercises, creative expression) to build confidence in discussing and addressing mental health challenges. -To encourage peer support networks where young people can share experiences and strategies in a safe, inclusive space. The third objective is focused on encouraging cross-cultural dialogue and inclusion: -To foster intercultural exchanges to explore different perspectives on mental health across diverse European backgrounds. -To address unique challenges faced by marginalized groups (migrants, low-income youth) through story-sharing and problem-solving activities. -To develop a youth-led mental health awareness campaign to extend the project's impact beyond participants. Key aspects of youth work practice in this project: Non-formal education and experiential learning: We rely on non-formal education methods, which are flexible, participatory, and experience-based. This project will use: -Workshops and interactive learning sessions on mental health topics, where young people can actively participate instead of passively receiving information. -Experiential learning activities, such as role-playing, storytelling, learning about medical hypnosis and other such-as practices to help young people develop coping strategies in real-life scenarios. -Reflection sessions where participants analyze their experiences and gain deeper self-awareness. Youth participation and peer learning: We value active participation by young people, allowing them to co-create and lead activities. In this project: -Participants will co-design workshops and share personal experiences, making learning more relatable and impactful. -Peer-to-peer learning will be encouraged, where young people teach and support each other through shared experiences. -Young people will take on leadership roles, ensuring that they are not just passive beneficiaries but active agents of change in their communities. Empowerment and personal development: A core aim of the project is to empower young people by equipping them with skills, confidence, and knowledge. The project will encourage self-expression through creative methods, such as video-making and hands-on reflection as detailed in the timetable, and it will help participants develop a sense of tolerance and inclusion, allowing them to adopt healthy practices and actions in their personal lives. Cross-cultural exchange and inclusion: We promote diversity, social inclusion, and intercultural learning. Since this project involves participants from Romania, Turkiye, Spain, Georgia and Albania, we will: -Facilitate intercultural dialogue sessions on mental health, exploring how different cultural perspectives shape mental health attitudes. -Ensure the project is inclusive of marginalized groups (migrants, low-income youth) by creating a safe space for open discussions. -Promote active listening and respect for diverse perspectives, encouraging solidarity and mutual support.
