Objectives

#PLUGTREE+ is the joint response born from lived experience and structured analysis, co-created by seven partner organisations from Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Romania, Greece, and Türkiye. The name itself is an acronym of these countries, symbolising diversity united around a shared tree-layered aim: combating stereotypes, discrimination, and social exclusion — with a focus on minorities, migrants, refugees, and displaced persons. PL+LT+LV+GR+RO+TR+EE + E+ = #PLUGTREE+ The project tackles discrimination and social exclusion by using proven non-formal methods and structured mentoring. This is already the fourth submission of the project, improved after scoring 65 points in the previous round, and refined with evaluator feedback to ensure stronger relevance and impact. A cross-analysis of partner SWOTs and surveys of 105 volunteers confirmed three urgent needs: (1) stronger youth resilience against stereotypes and propaganda; (2) targeted support for those facing barriers; (3) better integration of inclusive methods into daily organisational practice. During the project, participating persons will: • Improve their understanding of stereotypes, discrimination, and exclusion through activities such as Stereotype Flowers, Human Library, Country Inclusion Workshops, and World Café. Indicator: at least 80% of participating persons show higher scores in post-activity questionnaires compared to baseline. • Build stronger critical thinking against prejudice and propaganda through workshops on fake news, debates with the local community, and reflection sessions. Indicator: at least 70% of journals and facilitator notes confirm improved questioning of information. • Develop empathy and intercultural awareness by working in mixed teams and taking part in daily reflection groups. Indicator: peer evaluations and feedback show at least 80% of participating persons reporting greater openness to other cultures. • Receive mentoring and peer support, so that participants with fewer opportunities feel included and confident. Indicator: all 14 participants with fewer opportunities confirm in feedback forms that they felt supported and safe in the group. • Strengthen skills in teamwork, communication, leadership, and digital creativity through Photovoice, film-making, simulation games, creative workshops, and intercultural nights. Indicator: each team produces at least one creative or digital output, with 100% of participating persons contributing actively (confirmed by facilitator observation and peer feedback). After the project, participating persons will: • Share what they learned within their organisations and communities, supported by partner mentoring and dissemination. Indicator: each participating person will provide at least one testimonial during the mobility and one written testimonial in the post-mobility survey, ensuring 70 authentic stories (35 during mobility + 35 via post-mobility surveys) collected and reused. • Keep their new intercultural contacts, reducing isolation especially for those with fewer opportunities, and strengthening their sense of belonging to Europe. Indicator: 70% of participating persons confirm maintaining contact with peers three months after mobility. • Show stronger European values and civic engagement, reflected in Youthpass self-assessments and focus group feedback. Indicator: at least 80% of participating persons mark progress in competences related to civic engagement and intercultural learning. Objectives to be achieved by the end of the 12-month project: O1. Strengthen the understanding and critical attitudes of 35 persons (28 youth participants + 7 group leaders) towards discrimination, stereotypes, and social exclusion — focusing on minorities, migrants, refugees, and displaced persons — through non-formal and intercultural learning, as evidenced by pre- and post-mobility surveys, facilitator observation, and group creative outputs. O2. Enhance the social inclusion and sense of belonging of 14 youth with fewer opportunities from 7 countries (Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Greece, Türkiye, Romania, and Estonia) through mobility, mentoring, and follow-up actions, as measured by self-assessment surveys before and after mobility, peer evaluation during the exchange, and mentor feedback in the follow-up phase. O3. Increase the capacity of the 7 partner organisations from Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Greece, Türkiye, Romania, and Estonia to address discrimination, stereotypes, and exclusion—especially affecting minorities, migrants, refugees, and displaced persons—evidenced by embedding inclusive practices learned during the project, stronger pre-mobility preparation, higher confidence of staff and youth workers in inclusive tools, and by co-creating a Toolkit of Inclusive Practices, with the consortium preparing a follow-up KA1 youth exchange and exploring the ground for a KA210 cooperation partnership.
