Objectives

The main objectives we aim to achieve through the implementation of the project are to increase youth workers’ awareness in disaster management and first aid, to develop their knowledge and skills, and to support them in responding correctly in crisis situations. These objectives will contribute to developing young people’s sense of social responsibility, as well as strengthening their resilience and problem-solving abilities in emergency situations. Project objectives: Increasing awareness of disaster management: Ensuring that participants acquire knowledge about natural disasters, emergencies, and crisis management, and developing awareness of these topics. Building understanding of disaster risks, emergency assembly points, evacuation plans, and other vital aspects. Additionally, participants will understand the impact of climate change on the frequency and intensity of disasters. Developing first aid skills: Ensuring youth workers’ competence in first aid. Raising participants’ awareness of the proper use of first aid kits and the application of basic and advanced first aid techniques. These skills will equip participants to perform life-saving interventions in critical situations, contributing to their active involvement in society. Supporting intercultural learning and solidarity: Allowing participants from different countries to learn diverse cultural approaches in disaster management and first aid and to share knowledge and experiences with each other. In this context, the project will support the development of intercultural dialogue skills and the formation of more inclusive and understanding individuals. Developing stress management and leadership skills in crisis situations: Enabling participants to make correct and effective decisions in crisis situations and to stay organized without panicking. In this way, individuals capable of taking on leadership roles in their communities during extraordinary situations such as disasters will be developed. Learning to use digital disaster simulations and educational tools: Providing interactive learning experiences about crisis situations through disaster simulations and digital platforms, fostering awareness of disaster preparedness using technology. This will give participants the ability to use these tools in their communities, creating a multiplier effect in disaster management awareness. Strengthening active citizenship skills: Well-informed and prepared individuals in disaster and first aid will develop a sense of active and socially responsible citizenship. They will be encouraged to disseminate this knowledge in their communities and raise awareness in society. From the youth work perspective: The project will play an important role in youth work, providing youth workers with the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills in crisis management and first aid. Leaders and youth workers will continue to provide those they work with not only theoretical knowledge but also learning opportunities through practical applications. Additionally, the project will support their personal development, enhancing their social, cultural, and professional competencies.
