Objectives

We want to implement this project because air pollution represents an urgent and growing problem that poses a serious challenge to society and the environment. Industrialization, traffic, and unsustainable consumption practices contribute to the emission of harmful gases, which negatively affect air quality and human health. According to data from the European Environment Agency, poor air quality is one of the main ecological risk factors that shortens life expectancy and increases the incidence of respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. Research by the European Union shows that around 300,000 people die prematurely every year in Europe due to air pollution, which highlights the essential importance of this problem. In addition to health consequences, air pollution also has serious economic and ecological consequences. People with respiratory difficulties or vulnerable health are unable to work during periods of high pollution, which leads to increased treatment and healthcare costs. Furthermore, in many large cities, especially in Southern and Eastern Europe, smog is becoming increasingly frequent and dangerous to health, pointing to the urgent need for raising awareness and changing behaviors in society. The goals of this project are: - Raising awareness among young people about the causes and consequences of air pollution and its effects on health and the environment. - Educating participants on ways to reduce pollution through sustainable practices, energy-efficient choices, and environmentally responsible behavior. - Encouraging young people to actively participate in ecological initiatives and projects that contribute to improving air quality in their local communities. - Promoting international cooperation and exchange of ideas among young people from different European countries, with the aim of developing common solutions to global environmental problems. Through engaging workshops, practical tasks, and open discussions, we want to provide participants with useful knowledge and tools that will motivate them to actively take part in solving these issues, instead of being passive observers. We believe that young people can play a key role in shaping a sustainable future and that their involvement in ecological initiatives is of essential importance for achieving long-term change.
