The main aim of HVALA 2 Youth Work is to strengthen the competences of youth workers in using volunteering, healthy lifestyles and local activism as practical tools for empowering young people and building resilient, inclusive communities. The project is designed from the perspective of youth work practice: it connects day-to-day challenges faced by youth workers with innovative methods that are realistic, adaptable and transferable. Specific objectives are: • Enhance competences of 32 participants: 30 youth workers and leaders from 10 partner organisations and 2 trainers, during a 7-day training course in Brzeće, Serbia (July 2026). The training will focus on linking volunteering with health promotion, wellbeing and civic activism. Indicator: At least 70% of participants report improved competences in ETS self-assessment surveys. • Ensure quality follow-up by supporting each partner to implement at least one local workshop (minimum 10 in total) within three months after the training. These follow-up actions will engage young volunteers in applying new methods in their communities. Indicator: At least 200 young people directly reached through follow-up activities. • Promote wellbeing in youth work practice by embedding reflection, peer-to-peer support and self-care methods into the training design. Indicator: At least 80% of participants report improved awareness of balancing personal wellbeing with professional youth work responsibilities. • Document and exchange good practices of local activism and volunteering, especially inclusive approaches involving youth with fewer opportunities. The results will be collected in a digital booklet and toolbox with at least 10 tested practices, freely available online. • Strengthen organisational capacity by embedding tested methods into regular youth programmes, mentoring systems and international cooperation. Indicator: At least 8 partner organisations integrate new practices into their ongoing activities within six months. • Foster international networking by encouraging the development of at least two new project ideas or joint initiatives among partners within six months after the training. • Increase visibility and advocacy for volunteering and youth activism through a comprehensive dissemination strategy. This will include short daily video stories during the training, a 1-minute advocacy reel, one advocacy video, several online and print articles, and at least two public presentations at local or national level. Indicator: Outreach to a minimum of 15,000 people through media and social platforms. • Ensure alignment with European frameworks by connecting the project to the ETS Competence Model for Youth Workers, ensuring recognition of learning through Youthpass, and contributing to the EU Youth Goals (Goal 5: Mental Health & Wellbeing, Goal 9: Participation, Goal 10: Sustainable Green Europe). The project also supports the Bonn Process by promoting innovation, quality and recognition in youth work.
