We aim to create an event for active youth participation in Gothenburg, Sweden, where individuals aged 15-29 take part in a conference to foster innovative discussions and open dialogue. Through the event, we provide informal education about the EU, its institutions, and its impact on participants every-day life, following the theme of democratic participation. In turn, this will address the current knowledge gap about the EU among youth in Sweden, in the aim of closing the distance between EU institutions and youth. Through informal learning methods, like peer-to-peer learning, the project will allow for participants to improve their critical thinking skills in an active attempt to minimize societal polarisation. For volunteers, the project aims to promote cross-boarder collaboration in Europe, equipping them with leadership- and event management skills useful in everyday life. Organised by youth, for youth, the event aims to inspire young people to actively partake in civil society.
