Objectives

Through the implementation of the project "Escape Horizon: Unlocking YOUth Learning", we aim to introduce innovative tools and methodologies into youth work practice. The primary goal is to use escape rooms as a gamified, engaging approach to more effectively connect with young people. Traditional youth work methods often fail to capture the interest of today's youth, especially those who are disinterested or face various barriers to their participation. By equipping youth workers with the skills to design and implement escape rooms, the project provides them with a versatile, creative tool for more interactive, relevant and effective activities. This innovation not only improves the overall quality of youth work, but also aligns with the Erasmus+ programme's focus on modernising non-formal education with new techniques and technologies. The key objective of the project is to equip youth workers with practical, applicable skills that they can use in their daily work. The skills that youth workers will gain will enable them to create activities that encourage critical thinking, teamwork and creativity among young people. By incorporating elements of digital escape rooms, the project supports youth workers in adapting to hybrid and digital environments, ensuring that their practices remain relevant in a rapidly changing world. One of the central goals of the project is also to promote inclusion and diversity in youth work practices. Escape rooms offer a unique opportunity to address these topics through interactive, collaborative scenarios that foster empathy, cultural awareness and understanding. Another key goal of the project is to build long-term capacity within youth work organizations. Through the training, participants will gain not only technical skills, but also confidence and motivation to innovate within their organizations. The project emphasizes co-creation and knowledge sharing, which allows youth workers to learn from each other and build lasting networks of collaboration. The project aims to inspire and empower young people through more engaging, interactive and meaningful youth work. By introducing this innovative tool into youth work, the project improves the ability of youth workers to create activities that resonate with young people and encourage their active participation. Whether addressing social issues, fostering digital literacy or promoting teamwork, escape rooms provide a versatile platform for learning and personal growth. By empowering youth workers to use this methodology, the project ensures that young people directly benefit, gaining valuable skills and experiences that prepare them for their future roles as active, responsible members of society.
