The project aims to make young people’s voices in the Savinja region an integral part of preparing the Regional Comprehensive Mobility Strategy (RCPS). Together with youth workers and experts, young people move “from problem identification to measure”: they gather data on everyday travel, co-create feasible proposals, validate them publicly through voting, and submit them in a structured format to experts and decision-makers as guidance for the RCPS. In doing so, we establish a replicable model for involving youth in regional planning. The project’s objectives are to increase the influence of young people on the RCPS and strengthen trust between youth, experts and decision-makers; enable high-quality and accessible participation with clear steps from data to measures; build young people’s civic, digital and communication skills; promote understanding and uptake of sustainable mobility; and ensure the inclusion of rural youth and young people with (in)visible disabilities.
